Each series convenes ten companies, one to a specialism. Chairs are held by invitation: we research an industry, identify the people who lead each discipline within it, and extend invitations one at a time. While a chair is held, that discipline is closed. One wrong chair devalues the other nine, so the series only works if every one of them is earned.
Contributors give the series one directed shoot day a year, filmed at their own offices, and their candour. In return, their work, their company, and their thinking are published alongside the nine peers who define their industry, and stay in the archive permanently.
A chair is held for the year, one company to each specialism. Every contributor approves every clip of themselves before it is used, and the founding year carries a guarantee with it: one recut on your notes, and if it is still not right, none of it goes out and every penny comes back.
Every episode is emailed to people across the industry who have asked to receive it, and to the people who buy from it. Each one is promoted to those same people, and the full series stays on YouTube.
Ten Chairs is contributor-funded and editorially curated. Contributors fund the production that features them; they do not decide who else is in the room, and a seat cannot be bought where an invitation hasn't been extended.
If you lead a company in one of our industries and think you should be in the room, tell us about your company.
